The organization reports very positive attendance figures, confirming the festival’s strong roots in the city
Mishima closed the MMVV yesterday with a moving and massive concert at Plaça Major despite the rain
The Mercat de Música Viva de Vic (MMVV) closed its 37th edition yesterday, Sunday, with very positive results. The city welcomed a total of 156,000 people, a figure that surpasses last year’s 120,000 and confirms the festival’s strong connection both to the city and to the wider region.
The final highlight of this edition came from Mishima, who delivered a very special concert at Plaça Major. Despite the rain, the performance filled the emblematic stage and became one of the most moving and celebrated moments of the weekend.
According to several surveys carried out during this edition, the average visitor was 37 years old, with a balanced presence of men (48%) and women (45%). 30% of attendees came from the province of Barcelona, 25% from Vic, 21% from the rest of Osona, 10% from Girona, and 6% from other parts of Spain, along with 3% international visitors. Overall satisfaction with MMVV was very high, scoring 8.54 out of 10, and 91% of participants stated they would return. The recommendation index is excellent (53), with 57% of respondents willing to recommend the Mercat with a rating of 9 or 10. The most frequently mentioned areas for improvement were parking and signage.
On the professional side, more than 1,200 accredited participants took part in MMVV Pro Catalan Arts in the first edition under the new artistic direction team formed by Joan Rial, Jordi Casadesús and Rubèn Pujol. In total, the MMVV featured 72 concerts, 38 of which were world premieres, along with 6 co-productions or collaborations with other festivals and institutions.
The festival, organized by the Vic City Council and the Department of Culture of the Generalitat through the ICEC, was supported by INAEM, the Barcelona Provincial Council, and sponsored by Estrella Damm and Vera, among other partners.
